Gorgeous mouth blown gilt glass lay down perfume bottle, scent vial, lachrymatory or tear catcher.

No stopper. I do have a porcelain stopper that fits, if you like.

Gilt decoration in very good condition with some minor gold loss.

Perfect condition! (except for the missing stopper!)

Tear vials or lachrymatories were used in mourning since the Roman times, but became quite popular in the Victorian era again. These vials were used to collect the tears one shed for a loved one who had died. When the bottle was full or on the anniversary of the deceased, the bottle was poured over the grave.
