Adorable French gilt bronze vase with nude lady by Jean-Bernard Descomps
(1872–1948). early 20th century, signed J. Descomps and stamped with the foundry
mark Louchet on the bottom.
A gilt bronze baluster shaped vase with two ears, a female nude on the shoulder
pulling at the man's cap who is reading a book? On the back a chemistry decor:
bottles and an owl on a book.
H 7,9 inch / 20 cm. Small dent on the foot rim. ca. 1900.
Jean-Bernard Descomps worked at the 'École des beaux-arts' in Paris', and
studied under Alexandre Falguière. He received an honorable mention at the Salon
in 1901 and a medal 3e class in 1906.
